Backlogs are Bastards

Over the past few months, Read: since February, I’ve spent quite a few chunks of money and bandwidth either buying DVD’s or the fansubbed series (Don’t even think about starting a fansub discussion, I will give you a one way ticket to the river Styx.) This has all accumulated into quite an impressive collection, but leading to quite a damning situation.

Now for anyone in the real world, for example anyone who works full time and doesn’t live in their parent’s basement. The day is short enough as it is. Throw in friends, family, tending to adult matters and anything else the amount of time left to watch any Anime is surprising short, let alone write about it.

This results in one mammoth of a backlog that would take me around about 25 days of 24 hour marathon watching. Now who can do that? I have DVD’s still in shrink wrap, files that haven’t been touched in over 6 months and half written tidbits of reviews scattered all over my already cluttered computer.

Alas the problems are not at an end there. I’ve recently gotten back into reading again and I’m currently working my way through Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson. For anyone with a taste of 1600-1700 London I would recommend it, it’s a good read. This inevitably leaves even less time for Anime.

There will still be an update every Tuesday, after all I have to keep some schedule right? But I’m trying to think of ways to get more anime into my time, whether it be rotating shows or hell even doing it in big sessions on a Friday night (I can’t believe I just said that)

So if anyone can bend the laws of physics to let me watch all these shows please let me know.

P.S – Yes, Bateszi did give me the idea for this post, haha!
